The short version
We collect nothing. Your data stays on your device.
TrueSignal does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. No account is required. No analytics SDKs are included. No ad tracking exists. Your connection history never leaves your device. The only network traffic TrueSignal creates is the ping to the server you configure.
Data collection
What TrueSignal collects
TrueSignal collects nothing. Specifically:
No personal information — no name, email, phone number, or account of any kind is ever requested or stored.
No location data — TrueSignal does not request or use GPS, location services, or any location permission.
No analytics — there are no analytics SDKs, crash reporters, or usage tracking frameworks included in the app.
No advertising — there is no ad network, no ad ID tracking, and no behavioral profiling of any kind.
No connection history uploaded — your ping history, event log, and network log are stored locally on your device only. They are never transmitted to TrueSignal or any third party by the app itself.
Network activity
What network traffic TrueSignal creates
TrueSignal creates exactly one type of outbound network request: a periodic ping
to the server you configure in the app settings. By default this is
https://www.google.com/generate_204, but you can change it to
any server you choose — including a private server on your own network.
TrueSignal does not contact any server other than the one you explicitly configure.
There is no telemetry, no update check, no analytics endpoint, and no background
data collection.
External tools (Pro)
Third-party services in External Tools
TrueSignal Pro includes an External Tools section that provides
optional links to third-party services. These tools are entirely opt-in — you must
tap a tool and explicitly confirm a disclosure before any data leaves the app.
TrueSignal does not automatically send data to any of these services. When you
choose to use an external tool, you are leaving the TrueSignal app and interacting
directly with a third-party service governed by their own privacy policies.
⚠️ Important — external tools share your data
Each external tool receives at minimum your public IP address when opened. Some tools collect additional data such as your internet speed, ISP name, and location estimate. TrueSignal has no control over how these services collect, store, or use your data. Always review a third party's privacy policy before using their service.
The following third-party tools are currently available in TrueSignal External Tools:
| Tool | Provider | Data shared | Their privacy policy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Network Health Check | Spur Intelligence | Your public IP address | spur.us/privacy |
| Speed Test | Ookla (Speedtest.net) | Your public IP address, location estimate, ISP name, upload/download speed results | speedtest.net/about/privacy |
Additional third-party tools may be added to this section in future updates. This privacy policy will be updated whenever new tools are added, and the in-app disclosure shown before each tool will always reflect the current data sharing details.
Purchases
Subscriptions and payments
TrueSignal Pro subscriptions are processed through Apple App Store or
Google Play. TrueSignal does not handle payment information directly.
Subscription management (including cancellation) is handled through your
device's platform account settings.
TrueSignal uses RevenueCat to validate subscription entitlements.
RevenueCat receives an anonymized subscriber identifier for the purpose of
verifying your Pro status. No personal information is shared with RevenueCat beyond
what is required for subscription validation. See
revenuecat.com/privacy
for their privacy policy.
Age
Children's privacy
TrueSignal does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. The app does not collect personal information from any user, regardless of age.
Updates
Changes to this policy
This privacy policy may be updated when new features are added — particularly when new third-party tools are added to the External Tools section. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the app following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
