Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 24, 2026
TrueSignal ("we," "our," or "the app") is a connection-quality monitoring application for iOS and Android. This Privacy Policy explains what information TrueSignal does and does not handle, how it is stored, how long it is kept, and how you can have any stored data deleted.
At a glance
- TrueSignal does not require an account
- TrueSignal does not collect personal information
- TrueSignal does not want your personal information
- TrueSignal does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs
- TrueSignal does not transmit your usage data to us or any third party
- All monitoring data is stored locally on your device
- You can delete all TrueSignal data at any time (see section 6)
1. Information TrueSignal does not collect
TrueSignal does not collect, transmit, or store on any server:
- Your name, email, phone number, or address
- Your contacts, photos, calendar, or files
- Your device identifiers (advertising ID, IMEI, MAC address, etc.)
- Your precise or approximate location
- Your browsing or app usage history
- Any other personal or sensitive user data
2. What the developer can see
TrueSignal does not operate a user-facing server, so we do not receive your usage data. The only information we have about app usage comes from the standard aggregate reports provided by Apple's App Store Connect and Google Play Console:
- Approximate install, reinstall, and uninstall counts
- Country or region of users, in aggregate
- Aggregate crash and performance data, if reported by the operating system
- Aggregate subscription and purchase counts
These reports are aggregate and anonymous. They do not identify you personally, do not include your device identifier, and do not include any data about what servers you ping, your latency history, or how you use the app. We cannot link any store-level statistic back to an individual user, and we have no backdoor or alternate mechanism for collecting information from your device.
3. Information stored locally on your device
TrueSignal stores the following data only on your device, in the app's local storage. This data is never transmitted to us:
- Configured ping target URL(s) — the server or address you choose for connection checks.
- Latency samples and event history — the timing results of your connection checks, kept so the app can show you trends and recent events.
- Annotations and notes — any labels you add to events or sessions.
- App preferences — your selected check interval, alert settings, display options, and similar choices.
- Purchase / subscription state — a local indicator of whether your TrueSignal Pro entitlement is active.
This information stays on your device. If you uninstall the app or clear its storage, this data is removed.
4. Network traffic generated by TrueSignal
TrueSignal is a connection-measurement tool, so it must send network traffic in order to work. The only network traffic TrueSignal generates is:
- Connectivity checks (pings) to the server you configure in the app. By default, this is a reliable public target; you can change it to a local server, your own server, or any other target you choose. The destination server will see standard network metadata such as your IP address, as with any normal internet request. TrueSignal does not add any personal identifier to these requests.
- Purchase validation through Apple's App Store (on iOS) or Google Play Billing (on Android), via RevenueCat as our subscription management provider, when you start, restore, or manage a TrueSignal Pro subscription. These services receive only the information required to process and validate the purchase — they do not receive your ping history, latency data, or app usage.
5. Third-party services
TrueSignal uses the following third-party services, and only for the limited purposes listed below:
- Apple App Store / Google Play Billing — to process subscriptions and in-app purchases. Subject to Apple's and Google's privacy policies.
- RevenueCat — to validate and manage subscription entitlements. RevenueCat processes only the anonymized purchase information required to confirm your subscription status. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
TrueSignal does not use Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Facebook SDK, Crashlytics, advertising networks, or any other tracking or profiling service.
6. Data retention
Because TrueSignal stores data only on your local device, you control how long it is kept:
- On-device data (ping targets, latency history, events, annotations, settings) is retained on your device until you delete it, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app.
- Subscription records held by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat are retained by those providers according to their own retention policies, for as long as required to operate the billing relationship and to comply with tax and legal obligations. Those providers do not share data with the app owner or developer.
We do not operate a server that stores your TrueSignal usage data, so there is no cloud-side retention period because none exists.
7. How to delete your data
You can delete all data that TrueSignal stores on your device at any time.
To delete on-device TrueSignal data on Android:
- Open Settings on your device.
- Go to Apps (or Apps & notifications).
- Find and tap TrueSignal.
- Tap Storage & cache.
- Tap Clear storage to remove all app data, or tap Uninstall to remove the app entirely.
To delete on-device TrueSignal data on iOS:
- Touch and hold the TrueSignal app icon on your Home Screen.
- Tap Remove App, then Delete App to uninstall.
- Uninstalling removes all TrueSignal data stored on the device.
To delete subscription records:
TrueSignal itself does not hold your subscription records — they are held by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat. To request deletion of subscription data held by those providers, please use their account/privacy tools, or contact us at the address below and we will work with RevenueCat to delete any records associated with your purchase identifier.
8. Children's privacy
TrueSignal is not directed to children under 13. We do not collect personal information from children, young or old. We don't collect personal information from adults either. Even though it's technically not possible, if you believe a child has provided information to us through the app, please contact us and we will delete any such records.
9. Security
Because TrueSignal stores its data locally on your device, that data is protected by your device's own security — screen lock, encryption, and operating-system protections. We recommend using a device passcode and keeping your operating system up to date.
We also recommend keeping TrueSignal itself up to date through the App Store or Google Play. App updates include the latest functionality, security improvements, and bug fixes, and the most recent release is always the most secure version of the app.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated through the app or on the TrueSignal website.
